He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheriff John Hanna and Mary "Mae" Evans Hanna; and his siblings, Johnnie Harrell (Wade) of Florence, Rose Fitch (Carroll) of Pamplico, Mary Thomas (Gary) of Charleston, Jonathan Hanna (Lucille) of Hannah, Joel E. Hanna (Willa) of Florence and Jerl Hanna of Johnsonville.
He is survived by: his wife Muriel Poston Hanna; his children, Larry L. Hanna, John J. Hanna (Jennifer), Brenda H. Brown (Terry) and Dawn H. Hitchcock (Bob); and his grandchildren, Laura Huggins, Chris, Kirk, Jason Hanna, Adrian Brown, Brian Brown, Meagan Kuhlman, Angela, Derek, Mallary Hitchcock and Trinity Hanna.
