She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dawson Carpenter and Ruby Ann Feagin Carpenter; her husband James "Jimbo" Carpenter; and her sister Judy Powell. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Powell, Rickey Rhames and Lisa Parsons (James); her grandchildren, Jesse Rhames (Danielle Bryant), Katie Chandler (Trey), Justin Powell, Daniel Franks (Joselyn), Derek Harrington and Teri Bryant; her great grandchildren, Chip, Zachary, Landon, Dylan, Jordyn and Skyler; her great great grandchild Greylynn; her sisters, Annie Joye and Kathleen Carpenter; and her sons, James "Sack" Rhames and Jimmy Aikens (Leslie).
