He was predeceased by: his wife Dixie Lee Strickland; his parents, Alexander Strickland and Margaret Lee Strickland; and his son Barron Odell Cooper Strickland, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Brian Wheeler (Tanya) of Marion, Michael Strickland (Brandi) of Milledgeville, GA, Jeffrey Strickland (Dana) of Florence, Michelle Stone (Michael) of Pamplico and Travis Strickland (Sam) of Pamplico; his grandchildren, Brandy Strickland, Kayla Strickland (Chris), Jeffrey Strickland, Jr., Jason Strickland, Angel Tyler (Will), Kelsey Strickland, Dalton Strickland, Gracy Strickland, Hanna Wheeler, Brittany Smith and Courtney Smith; and his great grandchildren, Maci Shirer, Connor Shirer, Damon Shirer, Noah Shirer, Iris Evans and Brinley Smith.
