He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Anderson and Getha Myrtle Hughes; and his siblings, Ned, Jack Hughes and Mary Nell Milling.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Feagin Hughes; his son Andy Hughes (Angie); his granddaughters, Heather Dennis (Michael) and Kylie Tanner (Will); his great grandchildren, Michaela, Meghan, Hayden Dennis, Zeke and A. J. Tanner; his siblings, Carroll Hughes (Sara), Rebecca Dunahoe and Lydia Woffard; his sister-in-law Sarah M. Hughes; his sister Cherry; and his brother-in-law Dozier Tanner.
