She was predeceased by: her parents, James Boyce Malone and Mary Smith Malone; and her brother James Boyce Malone, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband William Elbert Matthews, Jr.; her daughter Laura Matthews Newkirk of West Ashley; her grandson Parker William Newkirk of West Ashley; her siblings-in-law, Patricia M. Rowland of Murrells Inlet and Jeffrey Matthews of Georgetown; and her nephew Lee Rowland of Murrells Inlet.
