She is survived by: her children, Anna Louise Hamilton, Maria B. Owens (James), Willie Benson, Viola B. Wilson (Melvin), Doris Williams, James Benson (Cathy), Eugene Benson, Theresa Drayton (Esnell) and Donald Benson; her adoptive daughters, Paula Moore and Danyel Fontaine; her siblings, Elijah Wittrell, James Wittrell (Gloria), Marie Middleton (James), Lucille Nelson (Julius, Sr.), Martha Ann Brown (Abraham, Sr.) and Albertha Wittrell; and her close friend Mary Ella Grant. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
