He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Hobson H. Chavis and Lenora Jeffcoat Chavis; his siblings, Joan, Dwight and Bobby; and his sister-in-law Charlotte "Eloise" Chavis.
He is survived by: his wife Joanna; his children, Haley and Joshua; his nephew Dustin Chavis; his aunts, Joyce Jeffcoat, Mary Ruth Jeffcoat, Linda Jeffcoat and Brenda Hill (Jerry); and his pet Mia. He is also survived by numerous cousins and his loyal companion.
