He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ted VanBuren Avant and Gladys Parsons Avant; his sister Lois Vernell Woodberry; his wife Lynette Brunson Avant of Jamestown; his children, Nicole "Nikki" Avant of Jamestown, Brian Allen Avant of Jamestown and Scott Anthony Avant of Charlotte, NC; and his siblings, Elizabeth "Tiny" Parrott of Georgetown, Esther Bellflowers of Stuckey, Betty Hope Robinson of Rose Hill and Gordon Avant of Johnsonville.
