He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Belle Beaty Hunter; his grandparents, Willie Alvin Hunter, Sr. and Addie Clemons Hunter; his uncles, Bertram Hunter and Nathaniel Beaty (Ella Hatten Beaty); his sister-in-law Bridgette Bryant; his father-in-law Billy Bryant; and his granddaughter Keishonna Hunter.
He is survived by: his parent Willie Alvin Hunter, Jr.; his wife Joyce B. Hunter; his children, Kathy Goodine (Michael), Rashon Hunter (Leia), Cissily Hunter and NiKesha Hunter; his siblings, Albert Leroy Hunter (Debra), Willie Alvin Hunter, III (Joann), Betty Hunter Paul (Enoch) and Lessie Hunter Brownlee (Daron); and his mother-in-law Pearlie Bryant.
