It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Norma Palms of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on July 26, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Norman L. Cannon and Gertrude Beshere Cannon; her children, Pope Benedict, Pro Ecclesia and Pontifice Cross; her husband John; her children, John Michael Palms, Jr. (Anna), Danielle Palms McClure (Mark) and Lee Cannon Palms (Nelle); her grandchildren, Lee Madison Palms, Caroline Kirkpatrick Palms, John Michael Palms III, Thomas Daniel McClure, Patrick John McClure, Maria Adele McClure, Lee Cannon Palms, Jr., Moseley Reed Palms and Harriette Nelle Palms; and her siblings, Joseph B. Cannon and Gertrude Agnes Cannon Cooper.
Due to Covid-19, a private funeral to be attended by the immediate family will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at The Cathedral of John the Baptist in Charleston, South Carolina.
In that regard, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the following: The University of South Carolina, Mepkin Abbey, The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston or the Spoleto Festival USA.
