He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Dillard Cable and Betty Gladden Hall; his former wife Martha Dobbins Cable; his grandson Alexander Blakeney Shute; his stepson Marty Ballentine; his brother-in-law Edward Granet; his stepgrandson Dallas Kepler; and his sisters, Jean Ettinger and Joyce Hall.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Morris Ballentine Cable; his sister Barbara Moreno; his children, Linda Cable Kepler (Tim) and Leonard Cable Jr. (Len); his stepdaughter Sydney Ballentine Siikala (Sissy); his grandson Preston Maxwell Shute (Bell); his sister-in-law Cheryl Granet; and his stepgrandchildren, Reilly Wilhelm, Lucas Siikala, Isabel Siikala, Sylvie Siikala and Penelope Emmett.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sullivan's Island Baptist Church (1753 Central Ave, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sullivan's Island Baptist Church (1753 Central Ave, Summerville, SC 29483). The military honors was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens (1308 Mathis Ferry Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464).
