He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund T. Burns and Susie Burns. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Burns (O'Connell); his children, Patrick, Catherine Hollister of Mount Pleasant and Michael of Denver, Colorado.; and his grandchildren, Noah, Daniel, Sean, Anna Cate, Elena Hollister, Brendan, Logan, Owen Burns and Vincent Gocon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Cooper Meals on Wheels P. O. Box 583, Mount Pleasant, SC 29465.
