She was predeceased by: her parents, John Berry Polk and Lillie Dubois Polk; her son O. D. Murdaugh "Bubba"; her sons-in-law, Wayne Causey and Wendell Smoak; her husbands, Osgood Darby Murdaugh Sr. and Mendell O'Quinn; and her siblings, Jessie Lee Breland, Dorothy Byrd and Marshall Polk.
She is survived by: her children, Osgood Jr. (O. D.), Jackie Smoak and Betty Jane Causey; her daughter-in-law Kathy Murdaugh; her sister Alma Breland; her grandchildren, Robbie Causey (Ashley), Scottie Causey (Deb), Jody Smoak (Michelle), BJ Smoak, Kevin Murdaugh and Derek Murdaugh (Cathy); her great grandchildren, Joseph, Mollie, Katie, Hannah, Rob, Darby, Carrie Causey and Fripp Smoak; and also, Shirley and Harry Driggers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including loving niece.
