He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hiers McMillan and Geneva Murdaugh McMillan; and his siblings, Charles H. McMillan, Jr., Beulah Urell McMillan, Hezekiah Henry McMillan and Thomas Riddick McMillan.
He is survived by: his former wife Frances; his wife Joan Dantzler McMillan; his children, James Michael McMillan, Sr. (Robyn), Travis J. Godley, Jr. (Holly) and Denise Godley Givens (Joseph); his sister Ronella Ida McMillan Winchester; his grandchildren, James Michael McMillan, Jr. (Laura), Justin McMillan (Michelle), Noah Givens, Jonah Givens, Micah Givens and Ezrah Givens; and his great grandchildren, Chasen McMillan and Ensley McMillan.
