With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gloria Godley of Islandton, South Carolina, born in Hampton, South Carolina, who passed away on November 29, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband David Lamar Godley; her parents, Lloyd Gibson and Edna Jones Gibson; her daughter Janice Marie Godley; her grandson Matthew Kendall Light; her siblings, William Gibson, Violet Crosby of Gladys Crosby, L. J, Roy Gibson, Bobby Gibson and Rae Polk; and her sister-in-law Nancy Godley Peeler (Jerry).
She is survived by: her children, Donna Godley Coxwell (Michael Coxwell) of Beaufort and Jeff Godley (Stacey Mole Godley) of Islandton; her grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Coxwell (Andrew Riggs), Caroline Coxwell Howell (William Howell, III), Catherine Grace Coxwell (Andrew Tant), Kenneth Lloyd Godley and Kennedy Faith Godley; her great grandchild Eliza Cooper Howell; her nephew Jason Peeler (Islandton); and her niece Emily Peeler Welch (Islandton). She is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 500 Adnah Church Road, Islandton, South Carolina 29929.
