He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecile Chapman Taylor and William Alexander Taylor; his stepdaughter Teresa Taylor; and his sister Barbara Reynolds. He is survived by: his children, Shelly Mabry (Steve) of Inman and Tony Taylor (Tonya) of Moore; his stepdaughter Tammy McCullough (Larry) of Spartanburg; his half-siblings, Bill Berry of Spartanburg and Elaine Hudson of Columbia, SC; and his former wife Ann Taylor of Spartanburg. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
