He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Punch Austin; his parents, Araminta Austin and Lester Austin of Hickory, NC.; and his siblings, James F. Austin and Mary Anna Austin.
He is survived by: his children, Jon O. Austin (Sue Ann) of Cary, NC and Katrina D. Austin of Inman, SC; his sister-in-law Vernice Punch (Edna Punch); his cousin Earl Austin, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Rebekah Austin of Baltimore, MD, Stephanie Austin Graham (Jacob) of Detroit, MI and Jon Hildebrandt of Texas.
