She was predeceased by: her parent James Jennings Cook; and her son Horace David "Davey" Ballenger, Jr.. She is survived by: her parent Vera Poteat Cook; her spouse Horace David Ballenger, Sr.; her daughter Debbie Austin (Sam) of Lexington, SC; her daughter-in-law Melinda Ballenger of Inman, SC; her siblings, Ann Cook of Inman, SC, Susan Smart (Bob) of Chesnee, SC and James Cook (Alice) of Inman, SC; and her grandchildren, April Taylor (Stephen), Amanda Rivenbark (Matt), Jordan Ballenger and Sarah Ballenger. She is also survived by five great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
