He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Dixon and Felix Dixon. He is survived by: his wife Karen Atkins Dixon; his children, Alison (Casey Parkhurst) and Daniel Dixon (Kelsey); his siblings, Rhonda Davidson and Randall Dixon; his aunt Lurah Pappas (Nick); his stepchildren, Billy, Tyson, Morgan, Victoria, Katelyn, Tommy and Joe; and his stepgrandchildren, Ryleigh, Jerimyah, Jacey and Eli.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund or the Spartanburg Humane Society.
