He was predeceased by: his son Marvin Dean Johnson, Jr.; and his siblings, Shirley Pruitt, Nellie Hutchins, Lucille Wolfe, Katie Abernathy, J. V. Johnson and Harold Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughter Rita J. Loy (Douglas) of Spartanburg; his sisters, Diane Strange of Campobello and Alma Jean Turner (Sam) of Boiling Springs; his grandson Chance Jacob Loy of Spartanburg; and his great grandchild Piper Marie Loy of Spartanburg.
