He was predeceased by: his parents, Verna Mae Lindsey Ball and James Roscoe Ball; his daughter Yolanda "YoYo" Ball; and his brother Phillip Ball. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Collins Ball; and his children, Monica Dorton (Jerry), James "Marty" Ball Jr. (Big) and Adam Woliver (Natalie) of Mt. Holly, N. C.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
