He was predeceased by: his parents, Beaulah Vencill Adkins and Walter Thomas Adkins; his son David Adkins of Elizabethton, TN; his brother Stanley Adkins (Easley); and also Wanda Brown Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Edwards Adkins; his siblings, Fred Adkins (Ruth) of Bristol, VA., Norma Puckett (Ken) of Gray Court and Debbie Tabor of Cedar Bluff, VA.; his grandson Jonathon Adkins (Kim); his great grandchildren, Jackson, Kennedy and Lincoln Adkins; and his grandchildren, Maranda Adkins and Mylan Adkins of Landrum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post #200 in Boiling Springs.
