He was predeceased by: his parents, Orland Leroy Story and Leona Leota Cowles. He is survived by: his daughters, Jamie (Bud) of Alaska, Joni (David), Carolina and Judi (Eric) of Colorado; and his grandchildren, Quinton (Tifany) of California, Weston (Natalie) of Washington, Karlie (Brett) of Florida and Summer (João) of Texas. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
