He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Benfield (Harris) and William Kermit Benfield. He is survived by: his children, Bridgett Dameron of Inman, Jerry Wayne Benfield of Spartanburg, Terry Benfield of Inman and Phillip Gilbert of Chesnee; and his sister Grace Grindstaff of Wellford. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
