He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Vaughn Collins and Horace Ray Collins; and his brother Ron Collins. He is survived by: his wife Rita Jolley Collins; his children, Roger McCarter (Kim) of Spartanburg, Steven McCarter (Vickie) of Inman and Julie Martin (Steve) of Inman; his siblings, Ray Collins of Inman, Dan Collins (Patty) of Inman, Sue Maxwell (Ronnie) of Inman and Jan Eplee (Don) of Inman; his grandchildren, Warren McCarter (Kellyn), Mallory McCarter (Blake), Leah Martin, Katie Martin, Jackson McCarter, Josie McCarter, Kaytlin Snider and Ana Ford; and his great grandchildren, Elly, Wren McCarter and Ollie Daniels.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parkway Baptist Church (555 Underwood Rd, Campobello, SC 29322).
