He was predeceased by: his parents, Durward R. Wendele and Lois Jane Wendele Fritz. He is survived by: his wife Julie Ann Wendele; his sons, Charles Joseph Christopher Sluder (Courtney Allison Sluder) and Johnathon Andrew Samuel Sluder (Jamie Lynn Sluder); his grandchildren, Austin Isaiah Sluder, Riley Anne Sluder, Bailey Grace Sluder, Charlie Rose Sluder, Wesley Michael Sluder, Grady Joseph Sluder, William Creed Sluder and Hailey Jayde Sluder; and his siblings, Michael Robert Wendele, Theresa Ann Dobbs, Joyce Catherine Wendele, John Thomas Wendele, Faith Ann Strunk and Paul Warner Wendele.
He later worked as a contractor with BMW in Greer, SC, where he formed lasting friendships and made significant contributions to the company.
