He is survived by: his spouse Ann Staggs; his children, Courtney Lamar Staggs (Shona Kyles) and Sytomie Mullins (Kevin) of Spartanburg, SC; his grandchildren, Nadia Ann Staggs, Noah James Staggs and Nicholas Nassir Staggs; his aunts, Flora Robinson and Charlotte Harper of Asheville, NC; his nieces, Adrienne "Pebbles" Staggs Davis (Rodenard), Michelle Staggs Brown (Timothy) and Terry Taylor; his sister Takiya Phillips (Eugene) of Asheville, NC; his sister-in-law Martha Staggs Thomas (Bill); his great-niece Tiffany N. Davis; and his great-nephews, Rodenard W. Davis, III, Evan Brown and Cortland E. Brown.
