He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnson and Sybil Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Wingo Johnson; his sons, Clint, Robb (Halie) and Ben (Alexis); his grandchildren, Eliza, Silas, Rollins and Andrew; and his sisters, Darlene Marlow (David) and Kathy Hightower (Otis).
