He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Anna Prowell and Calvin Cansler. He is survived by: his wife Susan Meador Cansler; his children, Patricia Misee, Sandra Cansler, Opal Dunnington, Melissa Murray and Thomas Handeland; and his sister Sharon Cansler Anderson. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
