He was predeceased by: his wife Lillie Mae Carson; his mother Mamie B. K. Carson; and his grandson Gerren Carson. He is survived by: his children, Melvin Carson (Ruth), Angela Brown (Earl), Sharon Carson, Linda Sue Smalls and Julie M. McNeil. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
