He is survived by: his children, Trustee Freddie Sumter, Jr. (Carolyn) of Eastover, Deacon Cleveland Jackson (Brittany) of Columbia, Margaret Robinson (Joseph) of Hopkins, Julia Jacobs (Jeffrey) of Hopkins and Sandra Sumter of Hopkins; and his siblings, Richard Sumter (Edna) of Paterson, Rosetta Sims (Jesse) of Paterson, Mary Sims of Paterson, Retha Sumter of Paterson and Geraldine McCollum (Elwood) of Gadsden. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
