He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Alverson and Betty Gilmer Alverson; his daughter Tammy Lynn Alverson; his sister Shirley Ann Blanton; and his grandson Brandon Nash.

He is survived by: his children, Tracy Donald (Craig) of Anderson and Ryan Branyon of Abbeville; his brother Dale Alverson (Julie) of Ware Shoals; and his grandson Dennis Nash.
