He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar O. Phillips and Cynthia Gambrell Phillips; his son Ernest O. Phillips; and his siblings, Lamar Phillips, Roy Phillip, Bud Phillips, Fred Phillips, A. N. Phillips, Thad Phillips, Corine Dalton and Mae Beeks.
He is survived by: his wife Maude Hall Phillips of Honea Path; his children, Terry Phillips (Mary) of Honea Path and Angelia Rawski (John) of Honea Path; his daughter-in-law Jane Phillips of Honea Path; his grandchildren, Lisa Vaughn (Mark), Jennifer Stanley (Greg), Trina Ginn (Brian), Josh Phillips (Tonya), Marissa Smith (Kaleb) and J. T. Rawski (Stacey); and his great grandchildren, Brayden Couch, Scout Ginn, Stone Phillips, Whitman Phillips and Rhett Rawski.
