She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Alvin and Mary Margaret Acker Smith; and her former husband James Ray Shaw, Sr.. She is survived by: her spouse Thomas Johnson of Wildwood Drive; her children, James Ray Shaw, Jr. of Anderson and Mary Dee Candler (Terry) of Townville; and her siblings, Walter "Buddy" Smith (Savannah) of Anderson and Nellie Jean Bence (Chris) of Honea Path. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Chiquola Baptist Church, 405 East Greer St, Honea Path, SC 29654.
