It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Hanks of Honea Path, South Carolina, born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on December 16, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe W. "Billy" Hanks of Murray Ave; her parents, Alexander Cooley and Dora Holliday Cooley; her son Joe Hanks; her son-in-law Doug Vaughn; and her siblings, John, Sam, L. J. Cooley, Geneva Crawford, Margaret King, Minnie Lee Emory, Sue Cooley, Martha Williams, Mary Ruth Cooley and Bobbie Cooley.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Hanks (Rhonda) of Honea Path, Scott Hanks (Kelly) of Edisto Beach and Linda Vaughn of Honea Path; her siblings, Henry Cooley of Honea Path and Peggy Rainey of West Pelzer; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Covan (Jim), Matt Hanks (Ashley), Jonathan Hanks, Phillip Hanks (Kayla) and Chris Vaughn (Katherine). She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
