He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Efrong and Lucille Young Brock; his son Richard David Brock; and his siblings, Jasper, Sloan Brock, Ellen Alewine and Bertha Mae Jones.

He is survived by: his children, Johnny Lamar Brock of West Union and April Forrester (Todd) of Hartsville; his grandchildren, David Brock, Aprile Leigh Stephens, Jackson Forrester, Hannah Forrester and Richard Howe; and his great grandchildren, Gavin Brock, Morgan Stephens, Mason Stephens, Violet Hall and Amari Cannon.
