He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammy Davis and Lula Mae Chandler Davis; his great grandchild Michael E Smith III; his sister Nancy Kimball; his niece Kristie Green; and his daughter-in-law Ella Ruth Phillips Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Rowe of Greenwood, April Brown of Honea Path, Dana King of Honea Path, Bobby Davis of Honea Path and David Major of Belton; and his siblings, Woodrow Davis of Belton, Barbara Summers of Williamston, Peggy Highland of Ohio and Gloria Moon of Belton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
