It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Elgin (Honea Path, South Carolina), born in Belton, South Carolina, who passed away on April 25, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Willingham and Bessie Willingham; her son Jack Elgin; her son-in-law Tommy Cothran III; and her siblings, James Willingham, Martha Land, Mildred Powell, Lila Willingham, Edith Thompson and Sarah Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Rowell (Johnny) of Georgetown, SC and Carol Cothran of Belton; and her grandchildren, Tommy Cothran IV, Scotty Cothran, Mandi Clark, Ashley Oakley, Jesse Cothran, John David Rowell, Stephanie Wilkins and Elizabeth Ann Rowell. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
