She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Banks and Annie Lee Banks; and her sister Lula B. Smalls. She is survived by: her brothers, Samuel Banks and Mitchum Banks; her husband James of Washington; her children, Sharnder Boyd (Timothy), Marsha of Washington and James Jerod (Dana) of Washington; her brothers, James Banks (Daisy), William Banks and Johnny Banks; her aunt Katie M. Spears; her siblings-in-law, Dianne Gillard (Yrel), Jeanette Banks, Robert of Washington, John Arthur (Barbara Jean) of Washington and Lucy Snider; her grandchildren, Jaylen, Jaysharn, De'Asia, Ephraim, E'ia, Destiny, A'legend and A'laya; and her friend Lavaris Benjamin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
