He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Woodrow and Carrie Gunnells Motes; and his brothers, William, Otis and Jimmy Motes.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Wanda Mattison Motes; and his nieces and nephews, Jason, Russell, Kyle, John Michael Motes, Jessica Horton and Brooke Motes.
