He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Belcher-Smith; his parents, Robert Witt Smith and Jessie McKnight Smith; and his children, Carlton Smith (Ojetta) of Hodges, Eileen Smith (James) of Anderson and Bernadette Smith-Todd of Hodges.
He is survived by: his sister Suetta Smith-Ward of Due West; and his son-in-law James Dickey (Gloria).
