She was predeceased by: her spouse Chalmos Wood; her parents, John Edward and Ilar Smith Hayes; her children, David, Daniel Ashmore and Nancy Brown; and her siblings, Edward, Bud, Frank, Bill Hayes, Frances McGaha, Cora Hannah and Kathryn Whatley.
She is survived by: her sister Ruth Hodges of Greenwood. She is also survived by five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
