He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry R. Burnette and Marion Brown Burnette; and his brothers, Richard Burnette, Donnie Burnette and Raymond "Corky" Burnette.

He is survived by: his spouse Vera Schlock Burnette; and his children, Faris Road and Greenville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
