He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Ola Nabors Smith; his brothers, Ray, Andy, Charlie, Earl, James, Frank, John and George Smith; and his grandmother McDonald (Emma Lee Hill).

He is survived by: his wife Marie Patterson Smith.
