She was predeceased by: her parent James Darlington. She is survived by: her parent Edith Darlington (Swartz).
In a written message she left for her family she said "I want it known that I have been promoted to my reward, my Heavenly Home. This is a celebration! Act like it!" Janie and her husband, Guy, owned and operated Dellinger Market and Restaurant in Inwood, WV for over 25 years. Hundreds of people enjoyed Janie's cooking at Dellinger's Restaurant for decades. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Everyone was privileged and blessed to know this gentle and beautiful lady. She is survived by one dearly loved son, Ronald Dellinger and wife Cheri, of Hilton Head Island, SC; four grandchildren, Steve Dellinger, of Hedgesville, WV; Mike Dellinger and wife Cherie, of Hilton Head Island, SC, Shane Dellinger and wife, Brandy, of Gassaway, WV, and Jarod Dellinger and wife, Suzzette, of Princeton, WV; four great- grandchildren Jordan, Gavin, Isiah and Mason Dellinger; four step-grandchildren, Bryan Cato and wife, Vicki of Poplar Bluff, MO; Becky Cato of Poplar Bluff, MO; Laura Hufty and husband, Rory, of Dardenne Prairie, MO; Mark Cato of Poplar Bluff, MO; seven step great-grandchildren, Millie, Isaac, Audrey, and Owen Cato, Izzy and Lexi Hufty, and Noland Raglow; two brothers, James Darlington, Jr., of Hollywood, FL, and Frank Darlington of Pikeside, WV; She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and her true love and husband, Guy, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Triggs and Joan Honsaker. Janie and Guy enjoyed travelling across the country and around the world. Together, they journeyed to almost every state in the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and the Caribbean. Besides traveling, her hobbies included shopping and fashion. Her keen sense of fashion was unparalleled. Funeral services will be held at 11: 00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home of South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Wayne Frum officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM., Friday, August 24 at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, PO Box 327, Bunker Hill, WV 25413, in memory of Janie Dellinger.
