He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Violet Held Lyle and George Dewey Lyle; and his siblings, Joyce Adler (Carl), Robert "Bob" Lyle (Sally) and Patty Hutchinson (Bob).
He is survived by: his wife H. Muriel Joyner Lyle; his children, Dr. George D. Lyle, II (Donna) of Winter Haven, FL., Julie C. Lyle of McKinney, TX and Ada Lynn Lyle of Alexandria, VA.; his grandchildren, George D. Lyle, III and Elizabeth Smith (Edward) of Boston, MA; and his great grandchild Gwen Smith.
