He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Dittmar; his children, Leslie Young (Richard), Daniel Dittmar (late Barbara) and Leann Chandler (Steven); his stepchildren, Cathy Beste (Greg), Karen Elsom (Scott) and Stephen Densford (Barbara); and his siblings, Frederick Dittmar (Joan) and Deann Lorenz (Edwin). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
