It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Olympia C Bafundo of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 23, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Maria and Januario Correia; and her sons, George Bafundo (Donna), Kenneth Bafundo (Carole Therrien) of South Burlington, VT and Robert Bafundo (Barbara) of Johns Creek, GA..
She bravely fought and survived three cases of COVID, the first of which, at age 99, was highlighted in 2019 in a front page article in the Island Packet.
