It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Berry Rion Wittenberg (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina), born in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on December 10, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alva Holbrook Rion (Happy) and Willodene Elliott Rion (Deenie); her siblings, James Wallace Rion (Elizabeth), Aubrey Holbrook Rion (Jeannette), Belgium and Willodene; her son-in-law Noel Radford Butts; and her grandson Philip Manning Butts.
She is survived by: her daughter Madelyn Drake Bourgeois Butts; her grandchildren, David Butts Rion (Christine) of Raleigh, NC, Savannah Marie Bourgeois Baumann (Charlie) of Beaverton, OR, Elliott Rion Bourgeois (Phoenix) of Portland, OR, Townsend Bourgeois Kinsler (Josh) of Athens, GA, John Rion (Bourgeois), Fleming Adams Bourgeois of Charlotte, NC, Jared Michael Lawandales of Satellite Beach, FL, Justin Ray Lawandales of Tampa, FL and Mathew Samuel Lawandales (Sarah) of St. Petersburg, FL.; and her husband Philip Wittenberg. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
