It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lajla DeLoach Hanes (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina), born in New Britain, Connecticut, who passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Stuart Hanes; her son Tom; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn. She is survived by: her daughter Sandy; her son-in-law Dennis Daly of Hilton Head; her grandchildren, Lindsay Daly (Lance Beadling), Tyler Daly, Christianne Hanes Golesky (Jason) and Jonathan Hanes (Sarah); her sister Ellen Van Buren; and her sister-in-law Sa'an Tibbetts (Bill). She is also survived by great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to METAvivor, an Annapolis, Maryland based 501 (c) (3) non- profit organization that provides funding for metastatic (Stage 4) breast cancer research. 100% of every donation goes to their research grants.
